At the Eikaas Gallery, you can experience some of the 850 works showing Eikaas’ multi-faceted visual style – from woodcuts and paintings to sculptures and etchings. He was known for exploring modernism, which focused on shapes, colours and composition.

The gallery is beautifully situated by the Jølstravatnet lake, along the E39. We invite you to dive into the work of Eikaas and our other featured artists.

For families, this visual landscape offers opportunities for both play and learning.

Exhibition:

Through 2025 and 2026, you can experience the exhibition “Lifethread – from Home to Studio” at The Eikaas Gallery. Here you will meet several characters from the weaving and homecraft traditions in Jølster, and their links to the wider community. Links that have been important for employment, but not least for creative collaboration and continued settlement. These are interwoven with Ludvig Eikaas’ own observations and compositions.
