The Figgjo River runs through Ålgård and Figgjo before continuing further out to the coast of Jæren. The river is a popular sport fishing river and is one of Norways biggest salmon rivers. The river is 42.2 km long and has a drop of 104 metres.

Queing up for fishing permits by the river! Fishing permits for Figgjo River are notoriously hard to get hold of, with people camping out in tents to secure themselves a permit on the 1st of May. The river is divided into zones and permits are sold at the following places:
