Haraldsvang Nature Park is a central part of Haugesund's green structure. Røyrvatnet is located at the southern end of the area. A birdwatching hut has been set up here, and this wetland area is teeming with bird life.

On the east side of Røyrvatnet, there is a footpath leading north. Where it crosses the river from Arkavatnet, benches have been placed. The river flows here in small rapids, and the place is called ‘Laksafossen’. The first trees were planted in 1883. Through natural regeneration, these trees have contributed to the area still being covered with trees.

Surrounded by beautiful hiking trails and right by Skeisvatnet, with its diving tower, is the playground in Vangen. With swings, climbing frames and a sandpit, this is a popular place for families with children to spend the morning. On fine days, Vangenterrassen, the café in the middle of the outdoor area, is open.
