No one knows for sure whether the story is true or just a good local legend, but it has contributed to the mountain's exciting and somewhat mysterious atmosphere.
Great views for such a short trip
From the top, the landscape opens up in all directions. The view is surprisingly expansive for such a short trip, and you can see large parts of Hellvik and the beautiful archipelago. Eigerøy lighthouse towers over the sea, and if you look inland, you can see Skykula, Gyaaksla and Bjerkreimssenderen (TV and radio transmitter). The sound towards Egersund is a natural landmark.
The climb is steep, but fortunately not long. There are white markings from the starting point. At the crossroads, leave the markings and follow the mountain further up towards the top. Although your pulse will increase a little on the way, the reward is worth it!
At the top, you will usually find a bench – although it tends to blow away in strong winds. However, it always reappears nearby and offers a perfect place to catch your breath, have a coffee and simply enjoy the silence and the view.
