Årbakka

The trading station at Årbakka, a classic example of a Western Norwegian trading station from 1898, has a sheltered location on the Onarheimsfjord.

The Årbakkavollen rampart is situated directly above the trading post. The rampart dates from the early Iron Age (0-550 A.D.), with the remains of at least 20 burial mounds and six standing stones. These are between 1 and 3 metres tall.
