Nesheimstunet farmstead and Vindafjord

The municipality gets its name from the Vindafjord, the fjord that forms its southern border with Suldal municipality. Vindafjord is home to several large companies; Westcon, Omega, Fatland Meat, Ølen Betong, Hatteland Group, Autostore and Berge Sag. There are also many smaller, family-run businesses such as the accommodation provider Nesheimstunet farmstead. The farmstead, which has been in the same family for generations, has even welcomed royal guests.

Rose painting and Roots Festival

Ølen is the municipality's centre for shops and services, including Unni Marie Rosemaling rose painting, Ølen Møbel furniture shop, Christiansen Bakeri, Granberg Garveri tannery, an off-license, pharmacy and grocery shops. In the village of Vikedal there is a fantastic marina with excellent amenities and parking for mobile homes. The Vikedal Roots Music Festival is organised here every July, where both well and lesser-known acts invite you to a four-day music party!
