Taste history and local flavours at Haaheim Gaard and E H Våge on Tysnes

Perched 170 metres above sea level on the island of Tysnes, Haaheim Gaard offers a unique culinary experience rooted in local tradition. Run by Torstein Hatlevik, the guesthouse serves locally inspired meals from breakfast to dinner, each crafted to create lasting memories. Special events like the Chefs Dinner bring together local food, humour and passionate producers from across the region – a highlight for anyone interested in authentic food culture.

For a sweet treat, visit E H Våge, a historic trading post by the sea, established in 1887. Here, Torstein crafts handmade chocolates, and you can also buy locally produced farm goods. E H Våge is open on weekends during the high season and by appointment the rest of the year.

The combination of locally sourced ingredients, coastal history and warm hospitality makes Haaheim Gaard and E H Våge two of the most distinctive places to visit on Tysnes.
