Fancy a dip in the sea? There are several places to go swimming in the sea or in a lake within walking distance of Haugesund town centre.

Asalvika bad – lovely little place to go swimming close to the town centre

This swimming spot is an 8-minute walk from byparken park in Haugesund (about 15 minutes from Haugesund Tourist Information). Walk along Haugevegen road from byparken, take the first road on the left and follow Asalvikvegen road to the end. Then follow a path down to the swimming spot.

Kvalsvik Badeplass – a refreshing dip in the sea

Kvalsvik is a child-friendly place to go swimming and is situated by the popular coastal path. It has its own beach hut and public toilets. There is no kiosk or shop in the immediate vicinity, so bring your own food and drink.

Haraldsvang – with its iconic diving platform

Haraldsvang is a popular outdoor area that is around a 30-minute walk from the centre of Haugesund. There are also walking trails and a playground at this swimming spot. There are public toilets beside the playground. Vangenterassen café is also located in the heart of Haraldsvang. The café doesn't have set opening hours, so check their Facebook page for the latest updates.

Haraldsvang consists of many hiking trails, varied vegetation, bathing area with diving tower, party venue and playground.

Eivindsvatnet lake in Djupadalen valley

Eivindsvatnet is a popular swimming spot in Haugesund. If you arrive by car, you can park in the area marked ‘turparkering: Djupadalen’ on Google Maps. If you are taking a bus, take the 202 service from Haugesund town centre and get off at ‘Steinerskolen Haugesund’. Then walk through the underpass, cross Stemmen dam and you'll arrive in Djupadalen valley. The area from Stemmen dam and along the lake is the most popular place to go for a swim. There are public toilets beside Stemmen in Djupadalen.

A refreshing swim combined with a sauna?

If you fancy a refreshing swim in Smedasundet strait combined with a hot sauna, you can book a slot at Heit Haugesund Sauna, which is situated on the island of Risøy (Haugesund town centre).
