Imagine gliding silently across crystal-clear waters, surrounded by a fairytale landscape of islets, skerries and sheltered coves – welcome to FjordKysten and Sunnfjord, a true paddling adventure.

Paddle in a UNESCO Global Geopark

On Norway’s western edge, you’ll find the Fjord Coast Regional and Geopark – part of the exclusive network of UNESCO Global Geoparks. Here, in the municipalities of Solund, Fjaler, Askvoll, Hyllestad and Sunnfjord, awaits a landscape of dramatic fjords, open coastal scenery and striking mountain formations – a paddling paradise you’ll never forget.

In Solund, you can join Sognefjord Active on a coastal culture paddling trip among more than 1,700 islands, islets and skerries. Here you’ll experience the unique blend of coastal culture, fascinating geology and rich wildlife – from sea eagles to seals – while also learning more about the history that has shaped this vibrant coastal community.

If you’d like to explore more of the geopark, or create your own tailor-made kayaking adventure, Sognefjord Active is ready to customise the trip to your wishes.

“Norway’s Venice”

You can’t get further west in Norway than the islands of Bulandet and Værlandet – often referred to as “Norway’s Venice”. This network of small and large islands, islets and skerries forms a labyrinth of narrow sounds and open stretches of sea – perfect for paddling away from the world and into a peaceful encounter with nature and vibrant coastal culture. Many visitors come here in autumn to surf the waves.

Paddle between chalk-white beaches and towering mountains

In Måløy, you can glide quietly in your kayak between chalk-white beaches and majestic mountains that plunge straight into the sea. Along the way, you’ll encounter vibrant coastal culture, historic trading posts and rich wildlife.

Join Sjøbris Adventure on guided kayaking tours and experience the coast in a completely new way – close to nature, at a gentle pace, with time to take in both the silence and the grandeur.

Join a guided kayak trip with Norway AdvenTURes from the fishing village of Kalvåg, and experience spectacular coastal nature as you paddle between islets and skerries. Watch the fish beneath you and enjoy the sense of mastery that comes from having full control of your kayak. If you’re lucky, you might even spot an eagle or a seal.

The archipelago around Florø also offers excellent conditions for kayaking. Head out to one of the many islands surrounding the town, or follow one of the fjords for a memorable paddling adventure.
