Adventures and History

Beyond food and accommodations, the team explored the region’s rich history and thrilling adventures:

  • Restauration – historic experiences. In 2025, it was 200 years since Norway’s first emigration to the US with the ship Restauration. A replica of the ship with crew repeats the voyage, and it arrived in New York on 9 October 2025. Read about the crossing here.
  • Stavanger turns 900 years old in 2025! The anniversary year features public celebrations, grand concerts and written theatre pieces. More information about the jubilee activities at www.stavanger2025.no
  • MS Sandnes – On board the veteran ship, MS Sandnes, host Frida Ronge prepares a delicious meal from all the excellent produce they have collected on the journey. Check out the veteran ship for your visit to the Stavanger region.
  • Fjord Events offers outdoor boat adventures along Stavanger’s fjords. On high-speed RIB boats, the hosts are transported to beautiful locations within our stunning natural surroundings. Find activities from Fjord Events here.
  • Cycling Jærruta is another activity that Arne, Stig and Frida enjoy on their journey. This is an ideal way to discover the beaches of Jæren, just south of Stavanger.
  • Shopping in Stavanger – Stig and Frida get ready for a big night out by dressing up at the local Stavanger shop, Made With Hart, which offers tailor-made clothing in vibrant colors. More shopping here.
  • To look their best for an evening at the culinary event, Bistrovaganza by Renaa, an annual food happening during Norway's largest food festival, Gladmat, they also make time for a stop at a local barber shop, Brødrene Fevang, a popular place for trimming that all-important hipster beard.
