Fjord taxi from Stavanger

The boat has a warm and cosy cabin, making it a good choice even on cool or rainy days. Many guests choose the trip to Lysefjorden to see Preikestolen – one of Norway's most famous landmarks, towering 600 metres above the fjord.

What the trip offers

Guests will experience Preikestolen and several of the fjord's famous sights:

• Whisky Falls – A waterfall that plunges straight into the fjord. The name comes from an old illegal whisky distillery that was located here. When the sheriff once paid an unexpected visit, all the whisky was poured into the fjord.
• Vagabond's cave – A cave where people once lived in their boats to avoid the tax collector.
• The trip also includes a stop in the village of Forsand and a visit to the farm run by your hosts.
• Duration: approx. 3 hours

About the boat

The fjord taxi is an Arronet 23.5 with a 150 hp Evinrude engine. The boat has a cruising speed of 20–25 knots and can reach up to 32 knots. There are 5 comfortable passenger seats on board, but the boat can take up to 7 people. Life jackets, a life raft for 8 people and all necessary communication and navigation equipment are provided. Safety is always our top priority. The skipper is familiar with the area and will show guests places in the fjord that can only be reached by boat.
