Lifjell is one of the finest viewpoints in North Jæren. From the summit, you can enjoy panoramic views of Stavanger, Gandsfjorden, the North Sea and Ryfylke.
The hike from Hommersåk
From the car park, follow the gravel road as it winds uphill towards the summit. The first section is fairly steep, but you will be rewarded with increasingly impressive views of Hommersåk, Riska and Strand along the way. At the summit, magnificent views await in every direction.
Follow the correct route and show consideration
There are several roads and paths in the area. Follow the correct route, and bring a map or download the route description before setting out. The surface may be wet and slippery after rain, so wear shoes with good grip and dress for the weather.
Keep a safe distance from grazing animals, keep your dog under control and close all gates behind you.

Getting here by car
Drive towards Hommersåk via road 13 and road 516, then follow the signs for Li. Turn left onto Likaiveien. After a few hundred metres, the road bends sharply to the right. Take the second road on the left, Limarka, and continue uphill.
At the small junction, keep left. The car park is located on the right-hand side. The road beyond the car park is closed to vehicles but can be followed on foot to the summit.
Getting here by public transport
By boat from Stavanger:
Take the boat from Fiskepirterminalen in Stavanger to Hommersåk. From the quay, turn left and follow Kaiveien for approximately 500 metres, passing the white-painted church. Turn right onto Riskaveien and continue to Likaiveien.
By bus from Sandnes:
Take bus 21 from Sandnes bus terminal to Hommersåk quay. From the quay, follow Kaiveien, pass the white-painted church and turn right onto Riskaveien. Continue to Likaiveien.
