The great outdoors for everyone

The cabins are universally designed, and many of the paths leading to these gems are accessible to people with prams, wheelchairs and walking frames. Even if you are new to outdoor life, have small children or mobility issues, there are a number of options for enjoying the great outdoors safely!

Easy summit hikes

Don’t despair though if you’re one of those people who enjoy building up a sweat and aching muscles. The most demanding hike is probably to the day trip cabin Klepp in Voss. It is situated 600 metres above sea level with a total climb of 450 metres. Many of the other cabins are several hundred metres above sea level, so you have to climb steep hills to get to them. But the view from the top makes it all worth it!

Here is a list of trips that require a little extra effort.

Enjoy a book by the fire

The 15-square-metre day trip cabins have a common design with a large floor-to-ceiling window that brings nature into the room. Colourful books line the walls, which you can borrow during your visit. Many of the cabins also have a wood-burning stove, so bring some firewood with you and enjoy the warm cosy atmosphere of the cabin. This is guaranteed to be an experience out of the ordinary!

Here are some of the day trip cabins where you can huddle by the stove with a packed lunch and a good book.

Enjoy your packed lunch outside

Do you prefer being outdoors? All the day trip cabins have lots of outdoor seating where you can enjoy your packed lunch. The large and spacious outdoor areas are perfect for fun and games. So just relax and enjoy an excursion in the beautiful scenery of Western Norway!

Visitors are not allowed to stay overnight in the cabins, but there are often many nice areas around them where you can pitch a tent or hang up a hammock. Unforgettable memories await!
